Use this workshop when any of the following are true:
- Lead time is long, priorities churn, or rework is common.

- You need to realign engineering, product, and operations on a single value stream.
It fits quarterly resets, major product shifts, and persistent quality or reliability issues. The session narrows focus to one value stream so changes are measurable and momentum is visible.
Workshop Template Overview
- Format: half-day (focused tune-up) or full-day (deep dive), in-person or remote. Choose a single value stream such as onboarding, checkout, or an internal platform service.
- Core outcomes:
- Current-state value stream map with lead time, process time, and key queues.
- Prioritized list of wastes and constraints.
- 1-3 small-batch experiments with hypotheses, metrics, owners, and timeboxes.
- Target-state sketch of improved flow and clearer decision rights.
- Follow-up cadence and communications plan.
- Design principle: separate problem framing, analysis, solution design, and commitment to reduce rework and clarify handoffs.
Participants and Roles
Keep the group to 6-10 people who collectively span the value stream:
Include at least one person who experiences real pain (for example, on-call or support) to ground decisions.

- Engineering Lead: technical feasibility, flow, and constraints.
